Today, end devices with a high demand for power can also be operated without any problems in existing Gigabit Ethernet networks via Power-over-Ethernet. For this purpose, MICROSENS has developed an industrial high-power PoE injector, which can be simply mounted on a 35-mm DIN rail. The PoE injector has a wide range of applications; Outdoor IP video surveillance cameras with built-in heating, PTZ function, high-power access points, mobile computer, LED lighting, and infrared headlights – all these features can be supplied with power over the data cable up to 60 watts when required. This is possible for harsh environments as well: here, the Entry Line High-Power PoE+ Injector is equipped with a robust metal chassis and features an extended temperature range between -40 and +75 degrees Celsius. The device works according to the PoE/PoE+ Standard and supports Gigabit Ethernet with data transmission rates of 10/100/1000 Mbps. In addition to complying with the standard modes of 15.4/30W, it can provide power of 36W or 60W through the appropriate configuration of the front DIP switches. This is possible through the use of all four pairs of twisted-pair cables. Another advantage offered by MICROSENS is the optional injector version with integrated step-up converter. The device can be supplied with a voltage of 24 to 56V DC, making it no longer necessary to purchase expensive 48V DC power supplies. The extended shock and vibration resistance of the injector has been proved through a wide range of deployments in harsh environments.

The new Profi Line Modular switches from MICROSENS offer top performance and flexibility in confined spaces. The modular design of the Profi Line Modular switches enables expansions tailored to needs, which limits the initial investment to the minimum necessary. Even the base switch module offers thirteen gigabit ports, of which four, as combo ports, can be expanded to fiber optic connections. Despite its space-saving design, it has two alarm inputs/outputs, for example for cabinet monitoring or integrating a sensor/actuator. The copper ports offer PoE/PoE+ with which the terminal devices connected can be supplied with electricity economically and without additional cabling work. The switches themselves can also work without their own power supply, supplied via PoE/PoE+ as powered devices. For maximum scalability, expansion modules with six or twelve Gigabit Ethernet ports are available that can simply be connected on the side to match demand.
